The Fiji Institute of Bankers has announced that its members will now have access to 10 banking scholarship opportunities this year, each worth $5000.
This was revealed by the Fiji Institute of Bankers President Saud Minam at last night's 25th Year Silver Jubilee celebrations.
Minam says that this increase will mainly help develop bankers from around the country.
He adds that the FIB Committee of Management will work on revising the criteria for the scholarships and members could expect to hear soon from the Secretariat on these new opportunities.
Attorney General and Minister for Finance Aiyaz Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum also spoke at last night Silver Jubilee celebrations.
He says that Government would like to work with the Fiji Institute of Bankers in a more substantial manner to build areas that builds capacity in the future.
The FIB will be increasing FIB member scholarships from two to ten and its value from $2000 to $5000 for a single sponsorship.
