Health Minister Rosy Akbar says their medical facilities and staff are fully equipped in terms of knowledge and resources to counter dengue fever.
She made the comments after opposition MP Anare Vadei’s question in regards to what the Ministry was doing with the outbreak of dengue fever, and whether the medical facilities and staff are capable to counter this.
Akbar says in a typical year they identify 400 confirmed cases of dengue fever adding the number of dengue cycle has doubled in the past 15 years.
She says they have some initiatives that will fight the dengue outbreak.
Akbar also told parliament that there is no cure for dengue however she says its impact on individuals can be managed through proper treatment.
