Medical Services Pacific has assisted 94,755 people since its establishment in 2010.
This was highlighted by the Health Minister Rosy Akbar during the Salsa for health charity event that raised $4,500.
Akbar stated that in 2017, Medical Services Pacific provided a wide range of health and social services to 16,778 people.
She adds that in 2017, Medical Services Pacific delivered 64,284 products and services to women, youth and children including 36,360 family planning services that were provided to both rural and urban communities.
Abkar says with the ongoing partnership with the Ministry for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Medical Services Pacific has worked towards counselling over 39,000 people through the National Child Helpline on 1325 that was launched in 2015.
She further stated that Medical Services Pacific has provided legal consultations to over 1,180 people, ensuring their access to justice and has also assisted survivors of sexual violence
Akbar says Medical Services Pacific with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services has provided a broad range of health care and social services, including public awareness and educational programs with a specialized focus on family planning, cancer prevention and screening, maternal and child health through community outreach in clinics in Suva and Labasa.
The fundraiser was organised to raise money for the Medical Services Pacific Post Rape Care program.
