Two members from the Maunatul Islam Association of Fiji have left for New Zealand this morning to participate in Imam Haji Hafiz Musa Patel’s funeral.
The Sheik-ul-Islam of Fiji, Aalim Muhiyidheen Sha Faizi and the Vice President of the Association, Ahmad Nazim departed this morning to perform the final prayers for their beloved guide and companion.
Speaking to Fijivillage from Nadi Airport, Aalim Faizi says Patel’s body had not been released yet.
He says that once his Janaza Namaaz(final prayer) is performed in Christchurch, a prayer ceremony will also be held at all of the Maunatul Islam Mosques in Fiji.
Meanwhile, Tamina Bibi, the sister of late Ashraf Ali is still awaiting her travel documents for her departure to New Zealand.
Ashraf Ali who was visiting his brother in Christchurch, Lautoka Jame Masjid’s Imam Hafiz Musa Patel and another man also named Ashraf Ali who moved to New Zealand a few years ago were shot in the Christchurch terror attack last Friday.
The attack claimed the lives of 50 people and injured 50.
