High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo has acquitted a 24-year-old student who was charged with five counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, one count of aiding and abetting arson and one count of damaging property.
Justice Temo concurred with the opinion of the assessors who unanimously found Matthew Gunua not guilty.
Meanwhile 34‑year‑old Binesh Prasad who is also charged in relation to the death of his 54-year-old father-in-law, his 28-year-old wife, his 10-year-old daughter and a couple who were renting at the house, has pleaded guilty to all charges.
Prasad will be sentenced at 11.30am today.
