There has been a massive traffic jam along the Suva Nausori corridor as majority of the motorists are using Kings Highway today to make their way to Suva.
We have reports that people who left Koronivia at 6 o’clock this morning were still stuck in traffic in Caubati at 7.40am.
There was also a huge traffic yesterday. People who left Suva at 6pm reached Nausori at 9pm.
There was additional traffic from about 4pm yesterday when Police set up a checkpoint at Laqere Bridge. This resulted in traffic backed up to Nabua. Police set up a checkpoint after a vehicle was stolen.
Only one lane of Princes Road near Dilkusha is open to traffic.
Traffic at the area is currently being managed by the Fiji Roads Authority Personnel.
FRA has reiterated that public safety is paramount and they have spotters in between the site where the land slips occurred and if they notice the slightest movements, FRA will close the whole road again.
This is after two vehicles that were passing along Princes Road near Dilkusha on Sunday afternoon were pushed down to the bank of the Rewa River due to the major landslide.
There were two other minor landslides along Princes Road on Sunday.
