A Russian‑designed anti‑anxiety drug, easily bought online, is considered the main culprit as police await toxicology results following a mass overdose at a private school in Australia.
Seven College students were rushed to hospital from the prestigious Gold Coast school after they were seen falling in and out of consciousness.
Five of the students remained in hospital last night as police sought to confirm whether they had taken the Russian‑designed drug.
Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Aubort said officers had recovered what appeared to be a powdered drug from the school.
The Gold Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit's number one priority was confirming what drug the students had taken.
