Any marches or gatherings without a proper permit will be seen as a breach of the law and will be investigated.
That’s the statement from Police Commissioner Ben Groenewald.
He said the Fiji Police has taken note of the fact that people are choosing to voice their opinion on the change of Fiji’s national flag by holding gatherings and have been seen marching in processions in various parts of the country.
Groenewald said a word of caution is being issued to those with the intentions of conducting any form of meeting or procession.
The Police Commissioner said people intending to do this must ensure that they abide by the Public Order Act and apply for a permit.
