A 49-year-old man who pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs has been sentenced to four years imprisonment by High Court Judge Justice Vinsent Perera.
Iliesa Tuituba also pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs.
The court was told that during the search at Tuituba's residence in Wainadoi, Navua on the 4th of November, 2014, Tuituba was found in possession of 443.6 grams of marijuana.
Tuituba also told the Police Officers that the leaves came from the plant he was cultivating.
He then led the Officers to the bush near his home from where 51 plants were uprooted.
The total weight of the plants uprooted were 7.6 kilograms.
He has been given a non-parole period of two years and nine months.
