The man who allegedly robbed a 21-year-old student in Tacirua earlier this month has been charged.
He has been charged with one count of robbery and will be produced at the Nasinu Magistrates Court today.
The man had sustained injuries whilst trying to flee from the crime scene.
Police say quick action by residents of Sakoca settlement resulted in the arrest of the man.
The incident occurred after 7pm on the 11th of this month when the suspect tried to grab the victim's mobile phone.
During the struggle, the victim shouted for help and residents came to his assistance.
Community members gave chase and the suspect fled into a nearby cassava patch and allegedly jumped into a creek where he sustained injuries.
Police were alerted and the suspect was arrested at the scene.
