A man who attempted to murder his defacto partner has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
High Court Judge, Justice Priyantha Fernando says the man has to serve a minimum of eight years before he is considered for pardon.
The man stabbed his defacto partner three times on the chest after he got angry that she wanted to continue drinking alcohol at another house after returning from a nightclub and she told him to find another woman as she has another man.
Justice Fernando says the aggravating factors are that this is a domestic violence offence and the man used a kitchen knife to commit the offence.
