A man who stole a digital camera, battery and a mobile phone has been sentenced to 22 months imprisonment by the Nausori Magistrates Court.
On 10th February, Iowane Nagata whilst being employed as a storeman stole an employee’s phone and the company camera and battery.
Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne says that Nagata had breached the trust of his employer by stealing equipment that was entrusted to him.
He adds that a custodial sentence is warranted to denounce his behaviour and to deter other employees from committing similar offences in their workplaces.
