A 57-year-old man has been sentenced to ten months imprisonment after he was convicted for uttering of forged documents to the Ministry of Education in Suva.
Ekbal Hussein was charged by FICAC and he pleaded guilty to one count of uttering of forged documents.
Hussein forged a Certificate of Diploma in Islamiyat of Madresa Nur-Ul-Islam Institute with the Fiji Public Service Application Form and submitted it to the Ministry.
He photocopied a certificate which belonged to Sheik Mohammed Yasin and inserted his name and changed the date.
Upon investigation it was revealed that he never attended the Institute.
