Man pleads guilty to embezzlement sentenced to 2 years imprisonment

A 54-year-old former Postal Assistant who pleaded guilty to two counts of embezzlement has been sentenced to two years imprisonment.

Semi Namaraulu appeared before Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne.

Namaraulu embezzled sealed postal packages in the course of transmission by post between 1 January 2015 and 25 July 2016.

The items were recovered by FICAC.

A non-parole period of 14 months has been fixed by the Suva Magistrates Court.
