A man has pleaded guilty to assaulting his wife, four year old daughter and three year old niece before the Suva High Court today.
The 25‑year‑old man is charged with two counts of intent to cause grievous harm, and one count of assault causing actual bodily harm.
It is alleged that between 11th to 13th June at Howell Road in Samabula this year, the man had an argument with his wife regarding the teachings being given to their niece and daughter.
The wife told him that the children are still young and whatever they teach them, they will follow.
The man got angry and it is alleged that he threw a cassava at his wife which hit her face, shoulder and arm and he also allegedly punched her on the neck.
It is alleged that on the 11th of June he slapped his three year old niece several times on her face and also hit her with a stick whilst putting her inside a 10kg sack.
He also allegedly hit the three year old girl with a kitchen knife wooden handle and mobile cable charger.
The man allegedly hit his four year old daughter on her face and hit her back several times with a wooden broom handle.
High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar will deliver his sentence at 9.30am tomorrow.
