A man convicted for aggravated burglary and theft has been sentenced to seven years, four months imprisonment by the Suva High Court.
The court was told that on 3rd March 2013, Jalesi Batimudramudra with another person broke into a house at Mead Road in Tamavua, ransacked the house and stole cash and other items valued close to over $27,000.
Justice Salesi Temo told the man that his offence shows that he had no respect for other people’s property rights, his attitude shows that he is a threat to the community as he has shown that he wants to take a free ride on other people’s back by stealing their hard earned properties.
Batimudramudra will have to spend six years behind bars before he can apply for parole.
