A man in his 20s is in police custody for his alleged involvement in a burglary and an aggravated robbery case in Savusavu involving more than $200,000.
Police say the suspect is alleged to have entered the home of a 60-year-old woman at Oneva Estate on Wednesday and stole assorted jewellery worth more than $200,000.
In the second incident, the suspect is alleged to have robbed a foreign retiree residing in Savusavu on Tuesday.
According to Police, the victim had offered the suspect a ride into Savusavu town when he allegedly stole a bag from the back seat of the car which contained local and foreign currencies.
Investigators arrested the suspect who is alleged to have been involved in both cases yesterday and have made full recoveries of the jewelry allegedly stolen from the home of the 60-year-old victim.
The suspect is in custody at the Savusavu Police Station.
