Man charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs discharged

Magistrate Waleen George has discharged a 25-year-old man charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs without recording any conviction.

Jone Toga pleaded guilty today for being in possession of 1.2 grams of marijuana on 18th November last year.

Magistrate George stated that she is giving Toga an opportunity to reform himself as he is a father of two young children.

Toga informed the court that he was using the marijuana for himself and was not selling it.

Magistrate George said that it was about time that Toga stop using drugs and further suggested that he go to St Giles Hospital and see the number of young people that are there due to marijuana.
