Man charged with rape and sexual assault found guilty by assessors

The three assessors in the rape trial of a 38-year-old man have found him guilty of one count of rape and one count of sexual assault.

High Court Judge Justice Vincent Perera will deliver his judgement at 11.45am Monday.

The accused has been remanded in custody.

It is alleged that in April last year he raped his 12-year old niece in Nabua when he was staying with them.
