34-year-old Venktesh Permal who allegedly set his 26-year-old wife alight in a shop in Lautoka early this month has been charged with one count of murder.
Permal was charged following the death of his wife at the Lautoka Hospital last week.
Police said he followed his 26‑year‑old wife into a shop holding a small bottle and it is alleged that he set his wife alight.
The matter has been adjourned to 5th May and the accused remains in custody.
