Man charged with alleged rape of 15yr-old files for no case to answer

The lawyer of a man charged with rape has filed for no case to answer in the Suva Magistrates Court.

Ronald Diven Kumar is alleged to have raped a 15‑year‑old girl on the 30th of December in 2010.

It is alleged that Kumar took the girl to a secluded place although she did not want to go.

The complainant had told the court that she was unconscious and when she woke up the accused was on top of her holding both of her hands together.

Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili will deliver his ruling on the no case to answer application next Wednesday at 10.30am.
