A man charged with two counts of being in possession of illicit drugs has been granted bail by the Suva Magistrates Court.
It was heard in court today that Mohammed Irfan Khan needs to attend his mothers funeral.
His lawyer says Khan’s mother passed away a day after Khan was remanded in custody on the 24th of last month.
Magistrate Liyanage Wikaramasekara has released Khan on bail.
It is alleged that Mohammed Irfan Khan was found in possession of 1.1 grams of marijuana and 0.06 grams of methamphetamine on the 21st of last month in Samabula.
He has been ordered to report to Samabula Police Station every day.
Magistrate Wikaramasekara has adjourned the case to the 27th of March.
