The man who was shot three times at the Al Noor mosque and his daughter have spent more than three months in Auckland hospitals and rehabilitation centres since the attack. The two mosque survivors cannot be named for legal reasons.
The father wrote in a Facebook post that it's going to take a long time for rehab but at least they are home.
He said in a video posted to his Facebook page that his daughter who was 4 when the attack happened was recovering well.
In the video his daughter looks at the camera and says "see you soon".
In April his daughter was conscious but brain damage meant she was unresponsive and did not recognise her parents. He said in April that she could not hear or see and was not able to move one of her legs.
Speaking to Stuff last week he said his daughter's recovery was a "miracle". She still could not see very well but was recovering from the brain damage. She could talk and remembered the day of the attack but did not know exactly what happened he said.
