The Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama shares that making primary and secondary education free in Fiji is still his proudest achievement.
Bainimarama highlighted this at the commissioning of the classroom block and handing over of 60 new desks and chairs at Vuya District School yesterday.
He says that visiting students around the country is the best part of his job as Prime Minister.
Bainimarama says over the past decade, he been all across the Northern Division opening new development projects at a rate that no government before has ever achieved which includes new water taps, new electrification projects, new roads, and new bridges, ports and jetties.
He says they have expanded access to critical services, bringing better quality healthcare and expanding the reach of essential government services as well.
Bainimarama says just last month they commissioned a massive new submarine cable project that will bring high speed telecommunications across the Northern division.
He says it is a simple equation that creates development which is when the economy grows, our national cake grows bigger, and they can fund the development projects that transform Fijian lives and well‑being for the better.
Bainimarama says that today, they will be making history all over again, as they hold the first‑ever National Fiji Day celebrations in the North in Subrail Park.
