Major upgrading of facilities like a proper sitting area and cafeteria at the Natovi jetty is expected to begin after the completion of the jetty upgrade.
Fiji Roads Authority has said that they have plans to construct proper facilities for the thousands of people who travel through this main port.
The Authority said this will only happen after the contractors finish with the jetty works by next year.
This comes after concerns were raised that there is no proper sitting area, refreshment bar and proper toilets.
The project is currently underway by the Pacific Marine and Civil Solutions at a cost of $2.2 million.
