Due to a change in the time of arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle the full road closure will now be implemented from 3.15pm this afternoon and not 4:15 as earlier announced.
This was confirmed by Police in the last hour.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to land at Nausori Airport at 3.30pm.
Police say traffic officers will redirect traffic and will open up the roads immediately after the entourage passes to ensure that traffic is flowing.
The roads that will be closed include, Wainibokasi Road, Kings Road (Nausori to Nabua), Ratu Mara Road, Waimanu Road, Edinburgh Drive, Rodwell Road, Scott Street and Victoria Parade.
Director Police Operations SSP Livai Driu has confirmed that people can expect the roads to be closed for 40 minutes to an hour and roads will be opened once the escorting is done.
This time change for the road closure will not affect the program for the traditional welcome ceremony and guard of honour.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be accorded a Guard of Honour before being escorted to Borron House at 5.10pm to meet President Jioji Konrote.
After this, they will then travel along Edinburgh Drive from Borron House through the Heart of Suva City to attend the traditional welcome ceremony at Albert Park from 6pm to 6.45pm.
People are also invited to attend the program today at Albert Park but they must be seated by 4pm.
After the traditional welcome ceremony there will be a royal wave from the GPH balcony later this evening.
