A major clean-up campaign has been planned for the Northern Division next week as number of confirmed dengue cases has gone up to 48.
National Advisor Communicable Diseases, Doctor Mike Kama said most of the resources and responses have been focused on Macuata which has 31 confirmed cases of dengue.
He said those affected are mostly in the working age category.
Doctor Kama added that the laboratory samples will soon be sent overseas for analysis.
Meanwhile, people living in the Northern Division should make a concerted effort in destroying mosquito breeding places as there is a dengue outbreak in the division.
