Resident Magistrate Jioji Boseiwaqa will deliver a ruling next Monday in relation to some legal issues in the case of the former CEO of the then Fiji Commerce Commission Bobby Maharaj.
Those legal issues pertain to whether the court will test the authenticity of some of the documents that will be used as evidence.
Maharaj is charged with one count of abuse of office.
It is alleged Maharaj while being employed by the Commerce Commission in abuse of authority directed an employee of the commission, without conducting an inspection to fill in false information to indicate an inspection was conducted of a trader and a verbal warning was issued against the trader for breaches under the Commerce Commission Decree.
