Fiji Roads Authority CEO John Hutchinson says he does not necessarily believe that MWH actually delivered what they are invoicing the FRA for.
Hutchinson says that is why they are requiring substantiation of their claims totalling $20 million.
He adds he has a responsibility through the board of directors to the people of Fiji and the government to ensure that they get best value for money and their services are provided in a safe, efficient and effective manner and that everything is done according to the law.
Hutchinson says if he is not satisfied with the work that a contractor is providing, he will challenge that and seek substantiation and that is what they have asked MWH to do consistently.
He says FRA believes that it is better placed to provide the services that MWH was entrusted with providing and FRA has embarked upon a recruitment drive and will consider applications by suitably qualified MWH employees.
