The Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji is now working on identifying the source of the suspected oil spill along the Lami foreshore.
This is after they worked with the Fiji Ports Corporation Limited and the Department of Environment to help contain the substance.
MSAF says it is currently verifying its findings and investigations are continuing.
The cause of the suspected oil spill is yet to be determined.
Residents living along the Lami foreshore had raised concerns about what seemed to be kerosene like substance along the foreshore.
