MSAF confirms no oil leakage from MV Suilven

The Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji has confirmed that there is no light diesel oil leaking from the MV Suilven.

Permanent Secretary Francis Kean says their dive team identified two fuel tanks on-board the MV Suilven and have determined that they were empty.

Kean says another dive will be carried out today to further confirm the absence of light diesel oil on-board the vessel.

He says they are having discussions with owners, Venu Shipping on insurance matters.

He adds all small boat operators should stay away from the site for safety and security reasons.
