Luxury liner QE2

Once the home of royalty and celebrities, the famed QE2 is preparing for a new lease of life as a floating hotel.

The retired luxury liner has been refurbished in her new home of Dubai and is taking bookings ahead of a scheduled opening in December.

Since her launch in 1969, the luxury ship has travelled some 9.65 million km in decades of service, carrying 2.5 million passengers and crossing the Atlantic more than 800 times.

She was even requisitioned as a troop carrier in the Falklands War against Argentina in 1982.
