The Water Authority of Fiji says the report by a local newspaper that people in Vuna village in Taveuni are affected by the lack of water supply after the desalination plant in the area broke down are untrue.
In a meeting with the villagers of Vuna today, Taveuni Water Authority of Fiji supervisor Pili Ieli says they have been intensifying water carting services to them.
Regional Manager Northern, Romuluse Mataitoga says they have continued to make nine trips in a day from Monday to Sunday to service the affected areas in Southern Taveuni through water carting.
Villagers of Vuna had sent a petition to the Prime Minister regarding the lack of water supply in the village.
