A man charged with one count of act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm has pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of assault causing actual bodily harm in Suva High Court.
Ledua Naba is alleged to have punched and hit a woman with an extension cord on Tuesday.
He had pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Judge Justice Daniel Goundar had asked the prosecution lawyer for the nature of injuries on the woman.
Prosecution lawyer had replied that the woman has sustained multiple bruises on the neck, back, shoulder and face.
Justice Goundar had then asked Naba if he would like to take plea on the lesser count of assault causing actual bodily harm to which the man pleaded guilty.
The case has been adjourned to the 16th of next month.
Naba has been remanded in custody.
