The Bose Vanua of Lau has agreed that they do not want their lease money to be equally distributed amongst its members.
This has been highlighted during the Lau Provincial Council meeting.
The Bose Vanua said this is because they do not have enough lease money.
According to the iTaukei Land Trust Board, 60 percent of members of a landowning unit should agree if their lease money can be deposited in a bank account and this money can be used for their projects.
TLTB said the equal distribution system has currently been used in the 12 provinces after the individual members opened their bank accounts.
It say the only two provinces that are left to adopt this new system are the provinces of Serua and Tailevu as work is expected to start next month.
