Leadership Fiji today handed over $4,832 to Homes of Hope to help them continue addressing the issue of family violence.

While officiating at the cheque handover, Leadership Fiji Chairman, William Parkinson says following the Rosie Batty Fundraiser, Leadership Fiji decided to donate the surplus to organisations working in the field of Family Violence.

Parkinson also highlighted that the visit by 2015 Australian of the Year and domestic violence campaigner Rosie Batty raising awareness on family violence was a useful reminder of what a big issue family violence is in Fiji and it is something that Leadership Fiji is determined to help tackle.

Homes of Hope Director, Pastor Mark Roche acknowledged the donation from Leadership Fiji and highlighted that they continue to work with many organisations including Leadership Fiji to fight against violence against women.

Roche also revealed that the donation will go towards the facilitation of five of their training labs that helps assist them in teaching the women and girls in their care.
