The Minister for Health Rosy Akbar has highlighted that the maternity ward at the Lautoka Hospital will be equipped with 30 new beds.
Akbar says the increased capacity will ensure that there are sufficient beds to accommodate the demand for services at the maternity ward.
When the Health Ministry saw the need for more beds over the last few months they had placed orders for new beds.
The Health Minister says that people need to understand that these beds do not come from local suppliers.
Akbar says that hospital beds for the Lautoka maternity ward will arrive in the country by the end of this month.
