Two men charged for their alleged involvement in an early morning aggravated robbery at a shop in Naselai on Monday appeared in the Nausori Magistrates Court this afternoon.
Lasaro Tubai and Eparama Naqai have been further remanded in custody and will re-appear in court tomorrow for bail ruling.
They allegedly threatened a security officer before stealing assorted items worth more than $100,000.
Tubai and Naqai have been charged with one count each of aggravated burglary, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation and theft.
Both made an application for bail however Police Prosecutor, Inspector Jiten Singh strongly objected to bail saying both have previous convictions of similar nature.
Singh says the two are charged with serious offences and the amount involved is substantially large.
The court was also told that Tubai has re-offended while on bail for a similar offence and there is a likelihood he will not come to court again and reoffend if released on bail.
