The Land Transport Authority is now looking at opening its offices in the weekends.
LTA’s Chairman Vijay Maharaj has confirmed this after Fijivillage raised the issue that most people do not get time in the weekdays to pay their fines or settle other matters as they are occupied at work.
Maharaj says they used to open their offices at Sports City in Grantham Road and Lami but they will now look at other areas in order to provide service for at least 3-4 hours.
We also asked Maharaj if LTA has plans to extend its opening hours in the weekdays as some people have raised concerns that LTA offices close after 3pm.
He says they cannot keep the LTA offices open till 5pm.
