Minister of Foreign Affairs Ratu Inoke Kuboubola met with New Zealand’s Foreign Minister Murray McCully in Auckland yesterday to discuss progress of rebuilding the relationship of the two countries.
The talks focussed on bilateral, Pacific regional and global issues, including cooperation around New Zealand's term on the United Nations Security Council.
Ratu Inoke Kubuabola says the talks were a positive development in relations between New Zealand and Fiji.
Kubuabola says they were able to discuss recent important developments like the visit to Fiji by the New Zealand Speaker David Carter and Fiji’s participation in New Zealand’s Recognised Seasonal Employer scheme.
New Zealand’s Foreign Minister, Murray McCully characterised the talks as a significant milestone in New Zealand and Fiji’s re-engagement.
