The motor vehicle industry needs to be competitive as far as price and availability of vehicles is concern to all ordinary Fijians.
This is according to the Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Koya while delivering his speech during the launching of the 8th generation of Toyota Hilux last night.
Koya says due to the lack of competition in the spare part industry, the government had intervene and determine the price of certain commonly used spare parts.
He says the introduction of this new model will demonstrate the critical investment taking place especially in the motor vehicle industry which will bring new technology, new skills, new level of comfort and safety in a complex and fast changing world.
Koya says the motor vehicle industry should not limit themselves.
