Minister for Employment and Productivity Semi Koroilavesau and a team of ministry officials are promoting Seasonal Work employment opportunities in the Lomaiviti Group.
Koroilavesau says the devastation of Winston reinforces Government's recruitment focus of overseas seasonal workers from the isolated rural and maritime communities.
Koroilavesau is urging all able persons in the Lomaiviti Group to utilize this opportunity to register their interest with the visiting officials.
The Ministry has also made a change in the selection criteria of workers selected for the Seasonal Worker Scheme for Australia and New Zealand.
Koroilavesau earlier said the body mass index has been increased from 29 to 33 which will provide employment opportunities to a wider section of the rural and maritime population.
The team will be in Qarani Village at 9.00am today, Navunisavu Village of Lovoni, Levuka at 7.00pm and tomorrow they will be in Naviteitei Village in Bureta.
Meanwhile, 101 Fijian workers have traveled abroad under this scheme since January this year.
