Soil washout beneath the road at the Kaudamu junction in Kinoya.
The Fiji Roads Authority has confirmed that Kinoya road is closed to traffic at the Kaudamu junction after a soil washout beneath the road yesterday.
FRA’s General Manager Network Operations and Maintenance Aram Goes says that traffic movement has to be restricted for now until the maintenance crew have completed repairs.
Goes says it is unsafe for vehicles to cross over at the moment for fear of the road caving in due to the size of the cavity that has formed.
He has asked motorists to use Vesivesi road as an alternative route as they plan to have this road opened by the 27th of this month.
