The movie, Billionaire Boys Club starring Kevin Spacey pulled in US$126 on its opening day for an estimated US$618 for the entire weekend.
The film was available in 11 theaters in select states in the US and had previously been made available on premium video on demand. Billionaire Boys Club made approximately $56 per theater.
After being accused of sexual misconduct, Spacey was dropped from the upcoming season of House of Cards and replaced by Christopher Plummer in All the Money in the World. Plummer went on to earn an Oscar nomination for his work.
Billionaire Boys Club was Spacey's first project to hit theaters since the allegations broke.
The film also stars Ansel Elgort, Taron Egerton and Emma Roberts, and is based on a true story about young people in Los Angeles in the 1980s who create a get‑rich‑quick scheme that takes a fatal turn.
