Music is an art form that young people can use as a positive escape from social issues that taunt our communities.
These were the words of Nigerian artist Ikenna Osueke better known as K. Rhyme who will for the first time be performing at today's Vonu Uprising Music Festival.
The 30-year-old hopes to inspire young musicians to use their talent to make a difference in their lives as well as for those they perform for.
The Vonu Uprising Music Festival this year will have a number of local entertainers such as The Gang, RAKO and Kulture band feat, Georgina Ledua including newcomers Jim Crow Blues Band from Adelaide, Australia along with local artists Knox, Blue Monk feat, Tom Mawi and Alyson Hancock as well as Four Quarters.
The event has started and will finish at approximately 2am tomorrow.
