High Court Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza will give his ruling on the no case to answer submission filed by the defence in the trial of Shahista Devi who is charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of criminal intimidation today.
The defence told the court that the prosecution has not proved their case before the court and there were inconsistencies in the evidence given by the state witnesses.
The state counsel told the court that they proved their case through the mother in law and further by her son who was one of the state witnesses.
It is alleged that Devi tried to murder her son and threatened to kill her mother in law.
The alleged incident happened on 2nd February last year in Nakasi.
