High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar will sum up the case of Australian national John Nikolic next Thursday.
Nikolic confirmed in court today that he will exercise his right to remain silent.
Nikolic's lawyer Wasu Pillay as well as Assistant DPP Lee Burney also confirmed they would waive their right to make closing submissions in the case.
Burney told the court he considered whether to deliver a closing address overnight because of the issue of fairness.
He said the evidence of the prosecution has not been challenged and if he delivered a closing address he would only be banging his drums for a second time.
Nikolic is facing two counts of possession of illicit drugs, one count of possession of arms and ammunition without a licence and two counts of unlawful importation of illicit drugs.
It is alleged that he had imported 12.9 kilograms of cocaine and 34.4 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated value of between $20 million to $30 million.
It is also alleged that he failed to declare that he had in his possession two pistols with 112 rounds of live ammunition.
John Nikolic had been jointly charged with the wife, Yvette Nikolic who was acquitted yesterday after Justice Goundar ruled that she had no case to answer.
