A lot of noise is being made about the Penang Mill closing down and a lot of comments are being made about SODELPA provisional candidate, George Shiu Raj saying he wants to buy and run the Penang Mill.

This was highlighted by the Attorney General and FijiFirst General Secretary Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum while speaking at the FijiFirst Family Fun Day in Rakiraki.

Sayed‑Khaiyum says that just because there was a mill in Rakiraki does not mean that you fix it up at any cost.

He says what matters to the farmers is as long as they get their cane crushed and as long as it comes at no additional cost for them.

He adds at the end of the day what also matters is that farmers are actually assisted in a very critical manner and farmers get the right type of funding.

Sayed‑Khaiyum has also stressed that Fiji needs to continue with the positive, forward and visionary policies that have been put in place.

More than 1,500 people were part of the FijiFirst Family Fun Day in Rakiraki today where majority of the FijiFirst provisional candidates were also present at the event.
