It was a joyous occasion for the students of Koroinasau Primary School in Nadroga when they received 30 new double beds from government.
These beds was handed over to the School by the Commissioner Western Manasa Tagicakibau on behalf of the Prime Minister whose office facilitated the request from the school.
During a talanoa session earlier this year the school committee had requested the Prime Minister for beds.
This was because students as young as 6‑year‑olds were sleeping on the floor.
The school caters for students of four villages whose main income are agriculture‑based.
In handing over the beds and a new walkway, Tagicakibau says the new development was testimony to the vision of government in 'Leaving no child behind' in the education of Fijian children.
