Jone Vakarisi Junior’s alleged assault cases were called in the Suva Magistrates Court and the Suva High Court today.
In his case in the High Court, Vakarisi is charged with arson and assault causing actual bodily harm.
He was allegedly involved in a number of break-ins, a road accident and big brawls in Nabua in November 2016.
This case was called before High Court Judge Justice Vinsent Perera today, however, neither Vakarisi nor his lawyer made an appearance.
Justice Perera has adjourned the case to the 19th of next month.
In two separate cases, Jone Vakarisi Junior appeared before Magistrate Deepika Prakash.
Jone Vakarisi Junior, Tevita Bulanaivalu, Ledua Gudru, Sekove Serukalou, Jese Sorovi, Toni Sokoiwasa, Chanel Antonio and Mark Ross are charged with going equipped for theft, criminal intimidation, damaging property and resisting arrest.
The 8 men charged with multiple charges of theft, criminal intimidation, damaging property and resisting arrest.
The men allegedly struck a police car with iron rods, cane knives, and stones, with police officers still inside and unable to get out.
The Police car sustained extensive damage.
In the second case, Vakarisi has also been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.
Both cases have been adjourned to the 4th of next month.
